April 26 and 27 marked this years Heart of the Home tour, a fundraising event for the Children’s Support League of the East Bay. We’re proud to say that one of our photos graces the cover of the the directory, as well as many of the marketing materials promoting the event. We’ve been serving as the “official photographer” for the event for several years, providing our time and resources pro-bono. Usually the exposure comes back to us in additional business, so in addition to supporting a good cause we usually see a return on our investment. It’s always fun to see these fabulous homes and to work with the staff of CSL. We photograph the projects in January so that the organizers have material for marketing. Photos of the houses also appear in April issue of Diablo Magazine Also, on pages 50 through 55.
Here’s the crew for our photo shoot for this years Heart of the Home Tour which will take place in April. Great fun with a great group of people.
Last week, on January 9 and 11 we photographed three of the houses that will be on the tour. I’ll keep those photos under wraps for the time being. We get an early start in January so that the tour organizers can use the photos to generate the tour brochure and other promotional materials. The tour is a fund raising event for the Children’s Support League of the East Bay. The homes are in Piedmont and neighboring parts of Oakland. This is the sixth year we’ve provided services as the “tour photographer.” We provided our services pro-bono and if history repeats itself, the exposure will be well worth the time we invest.
Save the date – August 4, 2018. That’s the date for this year’s AIA East Bay Home tour. We recently photographed one of the houses that will be on the tour, a remodel by Studio Bergtraun. An amazing project. Tickets will go on sale June 1. Mark your calendar and buy your tickets here.
The April 2018 issue of Diablo Magazine has a six page spread of our photos accompanying an article about the 30th CSL Heart of the Home Tour. You can check out the the on-line version of the magazine here. The home tour is a fund raising event for the Children’s Support League of the East Bay. The tour takes place April 27 and 28 of this year. You can buy tickes for the event here. This is an opportunity to visit some amazing homes featuring some top designers, contractors and architects. We’ve been providing photographic services pro-bono to CSL for several years, and every year the investment time pays dividends on the business we get through the exposure, not to mention the fact that we’re supporting a worthy cause.
We seem to have become the official photographer for the Children’s Support League (CSL) of the East Bay’s Heart of the Home Tour. We spent two days earlier this month photographing the homes that will be on the tour. The tour happens in April, but the photography has to happen well ahead of the tour in order to get the publicity together for the event. It’s quite fun to photograph some amazing Piedmont homes and the staff of CSL are great folks to work with. We’ve developed quite a team over the years we’ve been doing this.
Here’s a photo from one of the homes, with a dog that was well trained and quite willing to pose for us. While we give our time pro-bono to CSL, we’ve always managed to make a good return from our investment when the designer, architects and contractors that have worked on the homes come to us for additional work.
Working with the folks at the Children’s Support League is always delight. We recently spent two days capturing photographs for an upcoming fund raiser, the Heart of the Home Tour which will take place on April 29 and 30. This is an amazing opportunity to visit some wonderful homes and the money goes to a good cause. CSL is committed to improving the lives of children in our community. It’s an all-volunteer organization raises funds, primarily through the annual Heart of the Home Tour. CSL’s goals are to keep children safe, support their families, enhance their intellectual, emotional and physical well-being, and enrich their lives. CSL has awarded over $3.3 million in grants to programs supporting disadvantaged children.
We photographed six properties over the course of two days, spending several hours at each property. Our mission is to capture images that can be used to promote the event, and the photos end up on the printed mailers, the tour book, on the website and in print. Â We offer our services pro bono for this cause, and while simply supporting a good cause is enough in itself, we’ve found that the exposure results in opportunities that make our investment well worth the effort. We’ve already had opportunities show up as a result of our photography efforts this year, and we’re expecting to see our photos appear in Diablo Magazine, and other media was well.
